Registration, Pre-season and Practice Information

Welcome: Portland High & Casco Bay High School; Girls and Boys in grades 9 -12

Pre-season Practice Schedule: Aug., 24, 25, & 26th from 11:00 am to 4:00 p.m. (For returning sailors only)

Regular Practice Schedule: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays. First practice starts Monday, August 31st! ( for new and returning sailors)

Time: 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Where: SailMaine Community Sailing Center on Casco Bay
(across from the Narrow Gauge RailRoad)

Cost: $500.00 payment (50% or more of the fee)

Payment & Signed Forms Due: August 3rd, 2009 Late Fee: $25.00

Registration Forms: Down load from www.sailmaine.org (high school section).

Sailing Informational and Registration Meeting held Monday, August 3rd, at 5:30 p.m. in Portland. Bring completed forms and payment. For new and returning Parents Only. No sailors please. Fee Waiver Application: Do not let financial issues prevent your High School sailor from sailing thanks to SailMaine, Portland Parks and Recreation, and private donors partial and full scholarship are available. Sailing Experience: Fall Sailing no experience required. SailMaine offers a Learn to Sail Program.

Requirements:

All sailors are required to wear dry suit for Spring sailing season to protect against cold temperatures. Students are responsible for providing their own dry suit. Portland Sailing Boosters raises money to help with sailing expenses..

Dry suits are NOT required for the fall season.
